Michael Jackson

First off. Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Christmas Weekend.

On Sunday I took part of my time to watch the Michael Jackson interview on 60 Minutes. It was very interesting, disturbing, and strange.

The fact he sees nothing wrong with his behavior is beyond me, people say he is "child-like" but he is legally an adult and some of his actions can be deemed very unwise and he left himself open to legal action. I've experienced the change from my years in Boy Scouts where the rules about working around children has changed in terms of what is acceptable. Now everyone (Scouts and adults) are required to go through Youth Protection Training. Training which serves two purposes. First to teach the youth what their rights are, what to do if they feel uncomfortable, and how deal with situations that could arise. The second part is to teach the adults what is acceptable behavior, what not to do around the youth, and what steps to take to ensure allegations filed against Michael Jackson can be avoided. One thing that is absolutely prohibited is sharing of a bed/tent/cabin with youth and unrelated adults.

I also strongly disagree with the "money is the root of all evil" statement he made, because money is a object and has no morality. It only makes a person more of what they already are. If it wasn't for people making money, the good people like Mother Theresa could not of spent he life serving the poor. If Osama Bin Laden was poor and had no money he could not of built his ring of terrorists. Money is just a vehicle for people to express who they are, it does not just make people evil.

I did watch the rest of 60 Minutes where they covered a police station in Iraq, which was interesting. I would suggest a change where when you talk about how horrible life is and there is nothing good for the people of Iraq, don't show video of people being happy, shaking hands with troops, giving them gifts, and children playing. Because I was more focused on the children playing and smiling than what the reporter was saying.
